Cured in Place (CIPP) Trenchless Pipe Lining
What is CIPP?
Cured in Place Pipe Lining in North Carolina
Cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) is a jointless, seamless, non-invasive pipe-within-a-pipe used to repair existing pipelines without disturbing the surrounding area. It requires no trenching, no concrete cutting, and no cosmetic repairs to the area surrounding the pipe. CIPP is one of the most widely used pipe rehabiliation methods and is most frequently utilized by Thomas Plumbing to repair damaged sewer lines.
What to Expect
The Process of Relining Pipes in North Carolina
- Cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) relining is a multi-step process completely by trained plumbing professional. The process will begin with a camera inspection to inspect the affected pipeline, diagnose the problem and determine whether or not the affected pipe is a good candidate for relining. Once inspected, the skilled technician will clean the pipeline using a varity of professional drain cleaning tools including snakes, augers and/or jetters to remove all roots, dirt and debris. Following a thorough cleaning, the diameter, length and depth of the pipeline are measured and the new liner is cut to fit. A custom resin mix is created based on the size of the pipe, and the liner is impregnated with the resin. The technician will roll and massage the resin into the liner to ensure an even, thorough application.
- Once the new liner is ready, it is loaded into the inverter and inserted into the existing pipeline using hoses and inversion heads. Consistent air pressure is used to invert the liner, allowing the resin to bond and seal with the damaged existing pipe. The inflated calibration tube keeps the new liner in place for up to eight hours as it strengthens and cures. Once the liner is cured, the calibration tube is removed and the newly lined pipe-within-a-pipe is ready for service.
The Process
The pipe relining method utilizes a resin patch that is expertly installed within the existing pipe to line the perimeter of the broken section, and completely cures within a few hours to create a "pipe-within-a-pipe." The patch is inserted through an access point in the plumbing system and positioned over the damaged area using precise measurements and camera guidance, removing the need for excavation. Once fully cured, the liner minimally affects the circumference of the original sewer while restoring full functionality. Thomas Plumbing offers pipe relining in Raeford, North Carolina and the surrounding areas.
